BTO Youth Hosts 'Birds, Butterflies & More' Event in Harrogate

## Event Details The BTO Youth is hosting a free event called 'Birds, Butterflies & More' in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The event is scheduled to take place from 08:30 to 11:30 on August 22, 2026. It is open to those aged 16-25 and is a great opportunity for young people to connect with nature and learn about bird watching and citizen science. ## What to Expect The event will be led by Josh, the BTO Youth Representative for Yorkshire Central, and the Long Lands Common team. Participants will go on a guided walk around the community-owned restoration project, Long Lands Common, where they will learn how to identify birds and participate in citizen science surveys. The walk is approximately 1km long and will take around 20 minutes to complete. The route is wheelchair accessible, and the event organizers are happy to adjust activities to accommodate accessibility needs. ## Accessibility and Logistics The event is free to attend, and participants are encouraged to bring their own food and drink as there are no facilities available on site. Nearby bus and train services are available, and support can be offered if required. Toilets are located on site, and participants are asked to note that they will need to complete and sign a consent form if they are under 18 years old.
